What We Do
In the 1980s, many commercial insurance companies either stopped offering lawyers’ malpractice insurance policies or imposed dramatic and prohibitive premium increases. ISBA Mutual Insurance Company, was started and supported by The Illinois State Bar Association, who were concerned with the legal community’s ability to practice law in Illinois.
A number of local lawyers banded together and believed that is was in the public interest for lawyers in Illinois to access to malpractice insurance that was reasonably priced and was run and supported by the Illinois Lawyers – and not commercial carriers.
The result: stable premiums, better coverage, risk management services, coverage to support more than just your legal acts and a more responsive marketplace.
